The 2011 season ends this week. For more information please see the forum.
Something had to give and eventually winners emerged in the final stages.
Congratulations to Pingclubs/Mark Williams who edged clear by 3 shots.
Commiserations to Gov/Trashman for a fine contribution to a great final
First two up on the tees in the second round of the Devil final were Pingclubs and Gov .Pingclubs has the highest handicap and Gov has the lowest. Too one sided eh 1.
Well it was tight all the way and, yes, it finished as a tied score (nett 71) between them.
All now rests on Mark Williams and Trashman. As they come down the stretch the result will be known soon !
Stay tuned.
Talk about thrills. Round 1 of the Devil series final can't split the two teams. Both have a nett score of 144 strokes.
The first tee for the final round is going to be one nervous place !
The Devil series final is ON. Two courses are used for an18 hole finale. Cape Fear and Eagle Heights being the venues. If this is as close as expected then someone may need a big round to break any deadlock.
For a little extra pressure the event finishes Suinday July 10.
Close encounters with The Devil in round 5..and I mean close !
Only one shot separating the three teams. Mark Williams and Pingclubs just managed to ease themselves clear by one shot leaving Willy/Wormburner and Gov/Trashman tied. Separation came with Gov having the lowest individual score of 70, after handicaps were applied. This was also the lowest score in this round too. Therefore Gov/Trashman go through.
Congratulations to them and commisserations to the two W's.
The final will be played over 36 holes.
Round 5 of the Devil series is under way. Next stop - the final.
Leaderboards are now up to date. Everything else will catch up in a couple of days.
Unfortunately we have a technical issue with the stats programme so leaderboards and stats will be unavailable for a short while.
That doesn't stop us continuing to play tournaments so as far as that is concerned it is business as usual.
We have a winner in the Devil series round 4.
Gov and Trashmab held it together in the wind to ease clear by 3 strokes. Congartulations to them and commiserations to Bigb47 and Y2kcoupe.
The Devil series round 4 - as it should be. Everyone turned up and only two shots seperated the 4 teams,
We have a situation not seen before. Two teams were tied for last place. The tiebreaker (lowest individual score goes through) still couldn't seperate them. Therefore an additional round will have to be played in order to find a loser.
Time well spent on the course early today as William sailed through the ceremony looling like the most relaxed person there. Obviously he was not suffering any nerves at Wentworth where he turned in an immaculate score of 21 under par. Can anyone beat that - if they dare.
In order to take his mind off the big event Prince William would like to play around tomorrow - a round that is and as The GBO is the premier cybergolf experience he wishes to spend that time with the GBO'ers.
Honours may be in the offing so think about your tactics. Play to win or play to lose !
The Team Cup looked like building up to a great finish but I never thought round 4 would produce such a surprise. Building on their significant move in round 3 Wormburner/Tourhack turned in yet another combined low score to improve their one shot lead to a final 7 shot margin. Congratulations guys, Commiserations to Mark/Pingclubs and thanks to all for taking part.
And after round 3 Wormburner/Tourhack turn in a best combined score and are now one shot in front. All adds up to a scintillating challenge in round 4.
Round two results didn't change things a greta deal but Wormburner/Tourhack pulled back a point on Mark Williams/Pingclubs. We could be hedaing for a tie ?
The GBO Team Cup is well under way with the first round scores being available for viewing. Not a great deal in it that another 3 rounds can't change.
I'm wondering what has to be done to make April's round go as intended.
The Masters is approaching fast. Possibly the most anticipated event of the year.
This year the Magnolia Shootout returns at the Augusta Par 3 course which will provide an additional test of a different kind.
There will also be a "closest to the pin" competition courtesy of David Smith aka Wormburner who will be doing the adjudicating. More information soon.
The first leaderboards of the new season are now published. Congratulations to Pingclubs and Wormburner as first winners of the new season.
The Devil series gets under way next week so make sure you join a team as soon as possible to avoid being left out of this prestigious event.
As I see it we have 6 teams as follows:-
Reade/Golfsurfer
Randy/Bradthedad
Ric Lancaster/Karltour
Pingclubs/Mark Williams
Willy/Wormburner
Gov/Trashman
The first 3 tournaments have been set up. During this time I will be on holiday but everyone can continue playing during this time. A few points to note.
